Many of the characteristics that make you unique, the foods you tend to crave or dislike, your sleep habits, even the food you ate and the role you played in your family when you were growing up contribute to your unique health profile. Our physicians begin to work with you to uncover the roots of whatever problems you are having, to help chart a course for your journey toward better health.
Our physicians take great time and thoughtfulness to review and understand your condition, situation and individual goals and needs. You will have a chance to become familiar with a wider range of options as you become a more active and informed participant in your health. Oriental Medicine
There are many modality within Oriental Medicine, some are; acupuncture (using hair thin needles, directing Qi), Chinese herbal medicine (daily herbal balancing), moxibustion (application of heat, moving Qi), Tui Na (Chinese massage), cupping and other traditional healing techniques.
Acupuncture works
Acupuncture is quite pleasant and extremely relaxing, not painful as some people might think. In fact, it can be quite pleasantly and completely relaxing.
We call the relaxed state patients experience an "Acu-Hi" because it is similar to a runner's high. Both are a result of endorphin levels developing in the body.
From a Western medical perspective, acupuncture achieves healing by increasing blood flow, releasing tight muscles and stimulating positive hormonal changes. Finally, a sense of well-being is obtained from the resulting increase of endorphins within the body.
This relaxed state is part of the healing / balancing process, as sleep is to the healing process. Nature's true healing of our body, mind, emotions is being "relaxed but in an alert state".
Acupuncture is a 5,000 year old Chinese/Oriental medical diagnosis and treatment discipline based on restoring the balance to the natural flows of energy through the human body. Acupuncture includes placing and gently stimulating hair thin needles into specific points on the body to reach the desired balance of health.
According to Chinese/Oriental medicine, health disorders occur when the Qi "Life Force" becomes blocked, diminished, or redirected and causes pain and/or dysfunction. Acupuncture works by adjusting the Qi that flows through twelve major pathways known as the "meridians" in your body. The acupuncturist is trained in the understanding of unbalanced Qi and the selection of acupuncture points along the meridians that have specific therapeutic functions. Thin acupuncture needles are inserted into the points promoting Qi flow through the meridians. This manipulation of Qi restores balance, which allows the body to carry out its proper functions eliminating undesirable symptoms, discomfort and pain. The body subsequently adjusts to a healthy state of balance, and for this reason acupuncture treatments are often described as "Awakening the Intelligence of the Body".

Chinese Herbal Medicine is extremely powerful natural and holistic method of healing. They can be used alone or in conjunction with acupuncture to treat a full range of medical conditions. The herbs are remarkable in their ability to promote the body to heal and strengthen itself.
Like acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine is tailored to meet the specific needs of the individual. Chinese herbal formulas are designed to treat the symptoms and the underlying patterns of disharmony by restoring balance and strengthening the immune system.
Chinese herbs have been used for thousands of years to treat mankind. As a result, the formulas are well balanced and unwanted side effects rarely occur.

Pain Management
Pain is the most common symptom which patients present to the physician, but many disorders which cause pain are chronic internal conditions. Acute pain and pain from trauma can usually be treated very successfully with acupuncture and Chinese herbs, but pains lasting more than six months will probably require more comprehensive pain management.
Because Acupuncture, Oriental Medicine and Nutrition has so often been used for painful conditions, and it has been found helpful in so many disorders. People have not considered the much lower risk of traditional medicines such as acupuncture and oriental herbs when compared with powerful drugs and surgery. Because most pain problems become more complex with time, we always advise a patient considering pain management with acupuncture and oriental medicine to act without delay.
The results of acute pain management with oriental medicine are often very satisfying to the patient in terms of pain relief, decrease of swelling, and return to function. Side effects of drugs can be reduced or eliminated, and some people can decrease their drug intake significantly.
Ongoing research reveals new risks for many classes of drugs, and this has resulted in increasing interest in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in the treatment of chronic pain.
Treating chronic pain with acupuncture will often require a series of treatments to determine relief from your pain. This is especially true for long standing problems and those that have not responded to any Western treatment. With time, conditions become more complex and affect more areas of your body. Powerful drugs can also interfere with the effect of acupuncture and may have to be reduced as you begin to respond to treatment. Although we have seen occasional patients who are better after only one or two treatments, most patients need to commit to at least 1 month or more of treatment if they have moderate to severe levels of chronic pain.

NON - SURGICAL FACE LIFTS
Immortality and longevity
For over 5,000 years Oriental Medicine has aspired to cultivate the strength and vitality of the human being. While physical, mental, and emotional resiliency can be achieved through the regular consumption of special Chinese herbs, as well as regular Acupuncture Treatments, "Beautification" has been a specialized area of Chinese medicine for centuries. Prized by the Emperors and the Royal family throughout the ages, Acupuncture and herbs as well, has been used to not only slow down the aging process, but to maintain beauty, radiance, and vitality expressed through the face. The Chinese always revered beauty as a sign of immortality and longevity. Therefore, the physical appearance of the individual was considered a reflection of their strength and vitality. With this emphasis on immortality, Acupuncture was used to reverse and slow down the aging process, yielding remarkable results that can be maintained over the course of a lifetime.
Your face is your most important asset in your daily life. It's how people remember you and describe you. In this respect, it's much better to be thought of as youthful and energetic, rather than wrinkled and old. That's why more and more people are trying acupuncture / Microcurrent face lifts, because they are much less of a commitment and lack the risks of surgical face lifts .
A surgical face lift involves local anesthetic, incisions and a lengthy recovery process. It can also cost thousands of dollars for only an hour or so of work. Acupuncture face lifts can have the same results for much less money and eliminate any risks that surgeries can create.
There is a surge among middle-aged and older Americans wanting to maintain a younger look and vitality. As we age the lower third of our face and neck are the most noticeable. Acupuncture / Microcurrent treatments have gaining popularity as an alternative method to surgery, laser/chemical peels, botox, restyline, radiance, and collagen injections. Fine disposable, acupuncture needles (hair thin) and Microcurrent probes are placed at empirical points on the face and body that result in the increase of collagen production, thereby tightening the existing fibers. Facial tissue is left more supple and smooth, and lines are minimized or removed.

Cosmetic Facial Treatments
Each Cosmetic acupuncture / Microcurrent treatment includes general body acupuncture / Microcurrent treatments to enhance the benefits of your face lift and your immune system.
A course of Cosmetic Facial treatments includes two sessions per week, consisting of four to six weeks of treatment. Each individual will respond differently to the treatment depending on their age and lifestyle. Visible results may be noticeable after 3-6 treatments; many see results after the 1st treatment. Maintenance treatments maybe needed periodicity, depending on age and lifestyle . Allow about 60 - 90 minutes per treatment. Results can last anywhere from two to four years.
Alternatives
While not a replacement for surgery, Cosmetic Acupuncture is an excellent alternative. It is far less costly than cosmetic surgery. It is also safe, as it requires no drugs or injections and produces minimal side effects, if any. There is a slight chance of temporary local bruising, which should disappear within three days or less.
Who are Not good Candidates
Some patients may not be good candidates for non-surgical face lifts, including persons with pacemakers, heart conditions, high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, migraine headaches, bleeding disorders, pregnancy and some pituitary disorders. Please consult with your health practitioner.
What about Botox?
Cosmetic Acupuncture / Microcurrent treatments may enhance the effects of Botox and prolong its results. Therefore, fewer injections per year will be necessary.
Cosmetic Acupuncture may take 10-15 or more years off your face. It helps to eliminate fine lines and makes the deeper lines look softer. It can also help to minimize dark circles, puffy eyes, double chin, sagging skin, and dropping eyelids. Other benefits may be seen, all depending on your health and lifestyle:
